CFAO Mobility Expands Its CSR Efforts with a New Initiative to Keep Zambia Clean

CFAO Mobility has long been committed to making a positive impact on communities across Zambia. From building schools in villages and supporting differently-abled individuals to sponsoring medical equipment like incubators and empowering the less privileged through sports; our dedication to corporate social responsibility (CSR) has been unwavering.

CFAO Mobility is honored to contribute to Zambia’s efforts to build a clean, green, and healthy environment, aligning with the country’s celebrations of its 60th Independence anniversary this year. Recognizing the importance of sustainability, we have launched a focused initiative aimed at improving waste management through proper collection and disposal.

In support of Lusaka’s waste management efforts, CFAO Mobility has introduced branded waste bins in key areas such as Cairo Road, the roundabouts near our Toyota Cairo branch, and along the Great North Road towards our Multibrand offices. These bins are strategically positioned in high-traffic locations, making it convenient for residents and visitors to dispose of waste responsibly. This initiative not only complements the city’s cleaning programs but also encourages a shift towards better waste management practices.

At CFAO Mobility, sustainability is embedded in our core values, and we are committed to creating a lasting positive impact on Zambia’s environment. Our new waste management effort is part of a broader vision to foster environmental responsibility within the community, reducing litter and enhancing Lusaka’s cleanliness. It has been encouraging to witness the public actively using the waste bins, a clear sign of growing awareness and commitment to preserving our surroundings.

In addition to our efforts in the capital, we are planning to extend this initiative to other towns where CFAO Mobility operates. By expanding our reach, we aim to bring the benefits of this campaign to more communities, further reinforcing our commitment to environmental stewardship across Zambia. We believe that by promoting sustainable practices, we can inspire others to take up the cause, creating a wider impact throughout the nation.

CFAO Mobility’s vision for a cleaner Zambia is built on the belief that small, meaningful actions can lead to transformative change. As we join the mission to protect and sustain our environment, we reaffirm our dedication to building a healthier future for all.

Stay engaged with us as we continue rolling out this and other CSR initiatives, each contributing to the well-being of the communities we proudly serve.

Toyota Zambia Limited in partnership with World Vision Zambia handed over a 1×2 classroom block at Hippo Pool community School in Chingola District, Copperbelt Province.

The hand over took place on Thursday 7thApril 2022. The constrution project was funded by Toyota Zambia at a Total Cost of Six Hundred and Twenty Eight, Four Hundred and Two Kwacha (K628,402). The Classroom Block was officially handed over to the School by Copperbelt provincial Minister, Hon. Since its inception in 2003, the school has faced significant challenges in providing a conducive learning environment for learners due to inadequate learning space which resulted in classes being held irregularly, thereby affecting the quality of education for the pupils. The inadequate school infrastructure could not meet the high demand for education services needed by the children in Hippo Community and surrounding areas. Therefore, the completion and handing over of the school will provide a conducive, safe and dignified learning environment for learners, improve children’s educational performance, as well as retention rates for teachers.

It is Toyota Zambia’s goal and hope that with the provision of a good learning facility, more children in the area will be able to access primary education which is the foundation for a child’s development.

Speaking at the Handover ceremony, World Vision Zambia National Director John Hasse says the collaboration between Toyota Zambia and World Vision seeks to give children a chance to get quality education by providing a safe and conducive learning environment. “We aim to ensure children live life in its fullness and we believe that this is possible if children learn in a conducive environment. Through this partnership, we are ensuring that over 150 children who attend school at Hippo Pool Community School learn in a favourable environment,” says Mr. Hasse.

On the other hand, Toyota Zambia Managing Director Mr. Dino Bianchi said, Toyota Zambia recognizes the importance of access to quality education and improving school completion rates, especially for the girl child in our communities. It is for this reason that Toyota Zambia continues to partner with World Vision to support the Government of the Republic of Zambia in uplifting the education standards in our country. “We would like to assure you that Toyota Zambia in partnership with world vision Zambia will continue to partner with the Government of the Republic of Zambia, through the Ministry of Education, to implement similar programs in various communities to improve the quality of life for the citizens of this country,” says Mr. Dino Bianchi.

Toyota Zambia and World Vision Zambia Partner to construct a 1X2 Classroom block at Hippo Pool Community

Toyota Zambia in partnership with World Vision Zambia, has embarked on a project to construct a 1×2 classroom block at Hippo Pool Community School in Chingola District, on the Copperbelt, valued at K628,000. The project was commissioned on the 8th of October 2021. Since its inception in 2003, the school has faced significant challenges in providing a conducive learning environment due to inadequate learning space which resulted in classes being held irregularly, thereby affecting the quality of education for the pupils. The inadequate school infrastructure cannot meet the high demand for education services needed by the children in Hippo Pool Community and surrounding areas. Upon completion, this infrastructure will benefit over 400 children in the community.

In line with our shareholder vision of growing together with the community in areas where we operate, our corporate social responsibility support focuses on areas of health, education, safety and environmental sustainability.

It is our hope that with the provision of a good learning facility, more children in Hippo Pool Community will have access to primary education which is a foundation for our national development.

The classroom blocks are in use and the upper grades have taken up the new block while the lower grades have occupied the renovated block. Our partner, World Vision Zambia contributed new desks for all the classrooms.
